TrexPro® Partner since 2019
Trex & Millboard Deck Installation Specialists — Sydney
Choosing a premium board like Trex or Millboard is half the decision. Who installs it is the other half — and it’s the half that decides whether your deck still looks brand new in fifteen years, or starts lifting in two.
We’re UrbanArch Building — Trex deck installers Sydney-wide, a father-and-son team, Tony and Dean, building premium composite decks across Sydney, Wollongong and the Southern Highlands. We’ve been a TrexPro® Partner since 2019, listed in Trex’s official installer directory, and we build every Trex, Millboard and TimberTech deck to the manufacturer’s published installation specifications. Not close enough. To the book.
Every deck is backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty.
Why the Installer Matters as Much as the Board
Composite decking doesn’t behave like hardwood, and it can’t be installed like hardwood. Every brand engineers its boards differently — different expansion rates, different fixing systems, different subframe and ventilation requirements — and every brand publishes an installation manual that spells out exactly how its product must be built.
Here’s the part most homeowners only find out later: your product warranty depends on it. A 25-year board installed outside the manufacturer’s guidelines can leave you with no warranty at all. We’ve been called out to decks where beautiful, expensive boards were laid with no expansion gaps and buckled in the first summer. The board wasn’t the problem. The installation was.
That’s why brand-specific experience isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the whole job.
Trex Deck Installation Specialists — Sydney, Wollongong & Southern Highlands
Trex is a capped composite, and it moves with temperature — which means correct gapping between boards and at every abutment isn’t optional, it’s engineered into the system. We install Trex with its hidden fastening system for a clean, screw-free surface, build the subframe to Trex’s span and ventilation requirements, and detail the fascia and stairs the way Trex specifies — because that’s where shortcuts show up first.
The result is a Trex deck that performs the way Trex designed it to: low maintenance, fade and stain resistant, and covered by the warranty you paid for.
Trex Deck Installers Sydney — What Sets Us Apart
Plenty of Sydney builders will lay a Trex deck. Fewer have been doing it long enough to be listed by Trex themselves. We’ve been a TrexPro® Partner since 2019, building outdoor spaces as UrbanArch since 2017, on the back of twenty years in the trade.
What that means for your project is one team from start to finish — design, supply and build — and you’re dealing with Tony and Dean directly the whole way through. We build to Trex’s published installation specifications, back the workmanship with a 10-year warranty, and come back at the three-month mark to inspect the deck and check it’s settled the way it should. If you’re comparing Trex deck installers Sydney-wide, that last part is worth asking about. Most don’t.
Millboard Installation Experts
Millboard is unlike any other board on the market — it’s not a timber composite at all, but a polyurethane resin board with a hand-moulded Lastane® surface. It’s beautiful, it’s premium, and it installs completely differently to everything else. The fixing screws bed down through the Lastane surface, which closes back over them — so there are no visible fixings anywhere on the deck. Get that technique wrong and you’ve marked a very expensive board permanently.
We’ve worked extensively with Millboard and its subframe systems, and we know its quirks the way you only can from building with it. If you’ve fallen in love with Millboard’s look, it deserves hands that know it.
AZEK TimberTech Deck Installers
TimberTech’s capped composite and capped polymer ranges are superb boards with the same golden rule: they perform as promised when they’re installed as specified. We build TimberTech decks to the manufacturer’s installation guidelines — subframe, gapping, fixings and finishing details included.
Built to Manufacturer Spec — So Your Warranty Stands
Every composite brand’s warranty carries the same condition in the fine print: the deck must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. It’s the first thing a warranty assessor checks and the most common reason claims fail.
So that’s our standard, on every deck: built to the published specifications, with the subframe, ventilation, gapping and fixings done the way the manufacturer requires. Your board’s warranty is only as good as the installation underneath it — we make sure yours holds up.
A Father & Son Team That Looks After You Like Family
UrbanArch is Tony and Dean — a father and son who turn up ourselves, build it ourselves, and stand behind it ourselves. We think of a deck as an extra room you’re adding to your home, and we treat your place the way we’d treat our own. No sales team, no rotating crews, no runaround. Just straight answers and quality work.
Where We Work
We build across Sydney — including the Northern Beaches, North Shore, Sutherland Shire, Inner West, Hills District and Eastern Suburbs — plus Wollongong, the Illawarra and the Southern Highlands.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a certified Trex or Millboard installer?
For Trex, yes — we've been a TrexPro® Partner since 2019, and you'll find us listed in Trex's official installer directory. There's no equivalent certification program for Millboard or TimberTech in Australia, so for those boards what matters is how the deck is built: we install every deck to the manufacturer's published installation guidelines, which is what your product warranty actually requires, and we back the workmanship with our own 10-year warranty.
Do I need a certified installer for my Trex warranty to be valid?
Trex's product warranty covers the boards themselves regardless of who installs them — but a poor install can void claims and ruin a good deck. Using a TrexPro® Partner means the installer is recognised by Trex and builds to their published specifications, so both the product warranty and the deck itself are protected.
Trex or Millboard — which is right for my home?
They're both excellent boards with different strengths and price points. Have a look at our Trex decking and Millboard decking pages, or just give us a call — we'll talk you through it honestly, including which one we'd put on our own place.
Do you supply the boards, or just install them?
We handle the lot — design, supply and build — so there's one team responsible for the whole job, start to finish.
How long does a composite deck take to build?
Most decks take one to three weeks on site depending on size, height and access. We'll give you a straight timeframe with your quote, and we'll stick to it.
